Who i am…
Timo grew up in, Honolulu, Hawaii. At an early age he participated in the Honolulu Boys Choir, a well known choral boy’s group in the Islands. In high school he sang a song he wrote for a contest called "Brown Bags to Stardom" and won the contest for his school. It was a great learning experience for him, playing in front of thousands of people. In the next few years he would link up with fellow musicians at his high school and form rock bands which would perform at various high school events, including a showcase at Aloha Stadium, where the NFL held the Pro Bowl annually.
During his college days at the University of Hawaii, TiMo played regularly at the Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu, The Wave Waikiki and many other smaller venues in and around the Island of Oahu playing both covers and originals. They started to generate local interest on the Island, having songs featured on local Rock stations. He then moved to Southern California to pursue music.
His music career in California has given him opportunities to play the House of Blues and Anaheim Convention Center along with regular gigs at the Pint House in Fullerton. After his wife became sick, TiMo took a break from music to help her recover. He supported her dream of becoming an artist. During her recovery she started fundraisers through teaching people how to paint. At that time a couple of good friends were diagnosed with Breast Cancer. TiMo produced The PINK album in honor of fighters and survivors of cancer. He teamed up with Susan G. Komen LA as a partner to help find a cure through music. His passion for music and fighting for causes has led him to play “Race for the Cure” at Dodger Stadium and “Stand Up for the Cure” as the main entertainment in Newport Beach. In addition TiMo debuted the full length album at “Paint Away Breast Cancer”- Anaheim GardenWalk in 2018 along with his wife Kristy who taught 200+ how to paint in the courtyard of the mall. He was regularly featured in the House of Blues restaurant and bar through 2019.
TiMo holds a BA in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii. He grew up fostering connections with surf industry executives while immersing himself in surfing and music. TiMo's extensive background in music, his deep connection to the surf world, and his experience with event organization, make him a vital creative force and visionary leader at his surf brand TIOIT, pronounced “tight”. Along with promoting surf events and apparel, TiMo is also co-producing a surf, art, and music show called “TIOIT Immersive”. It features KrisT’s art animated and put to all new songs produced and recorded by TiMo and performed live.
